ValDayCard 2016

Lawnscaping Challenge Sending Love #123

This is my first card challenge entry.  I love Lawn Fawn stamps and have been wanting to do this for a while.  This is such a fun way to put my stamps to use, and I can get Valentines made for my nieces in the process!

Lawn Fawn stamps:
Pizza My Heart (cookies and sprinkles, and some background fillers)
Sweet Christmas (background)
Gleeful Gardens (i ‘heart’ you) (This used to say “i ‘heart’ you so mush” but I cut the stamp down.)
Here’s the Scoop (background)
Sweet Smiles (YOU’RE SO SWEET)

Cardstock – Recollections – pink is 65# and white base is 110#
Paper – Lawn Fawn – Let’s Polka, Mon Amie
Inks – Memento Dew Drops – Rosebud, Angel Pink and Desert Sand
Hero Arts Unicorn White (touched up with white Signo Uni-ball UM-153)
Tombow Dual tip marker #947
Ranger/Tim Holtz – Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry
Kuretake Zig Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen – Clear

Unfortunately, I can’t remember what the brand of the twine is – I got it on clearance when Archiver’s closed and the wrapping was discarded a long time ago.

I think the background is my favorite part.  Making my own patterned paper was a lot of fun and gave me a chance to use a wider variety of my stamps.  I also really liked the way the cookies turned out, considering they are supposed to be pizzas!  You can’t really see it in the picture, but the white parts of the cookies are covered in clear Wink of Stella for some extra shine.

If you need card making inspiration, be sure to check out the challenge. There are some great ideas submitted there!
